Torrox is known as "The Best Climate in Europe" being protected from the north winds by the Tejeda and Almijara mountains. Torrox Costa has 9km of sandy beaches with many bars and restaurants next to the Balcon de Torrox and along the promenade.

Torrox is located 47km east of Malaga in between Torre del Mar and Nerja. Similar to most Andalusian towns, Torrox has Neolithic, Roman and Moorish origins. Torrox was an important Roman factory city and extensive ruins have been excavated and restored including baths, a luxury villa and a necropolis.
